The southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) A1A) between East Granada Boulevard (S.R. 40) and Standish Drive in Ormond Beach will be closed in three nonconcurrent segments, with the first segment starting as soon as Monday, Feb. 17. These closures are necessary to allow for drainage, curb and gutter, and pedestrian enhancement operations.

• Segment 1: The southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Neptune Avenue and East Granada Boulevard for approximately two months. Please note that the detour will be temporarily lifted for Daytona Bike Week from Friday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, Mar. 9. Construction activities will also be paused during this time. Construction activities and the detour will resume on Monday, Mar. 10.
  • Detour information: Motorists traveling south on Ocean Shore Boulevard wishing to reach East Granada Boulevard will turn right on Neptune Avenue, turn left on North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard.
• Segment 2: The southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Amsden Road and Neptune Avenue for approximately two months. The closure dates for this segment will be announced subsequently.
  • Detour information: Motorists traveling south on Ocean Shore Boulevard wishing to reach East Granada Boulevard will turn right on Amsden Road, turn left on North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard.
• Segment 3: The southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Standish Drive and Amsden Road for approximately two months. The closure dates for this segment will be announced subsequently.
  • Detour information: Motorists traveling south on Ocean Shore Boulevard wishing to reach East Granada Boulevard will turn right on Standish Drive, turn left on North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard.

Sunday, February 16, through Thursday, February 20, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., motorists can expect intermittent inside and outside single lane closures on eastbound and westbound Granada Boulevard (S.R. 40) from S.R. A1A to S.R. 5. The work includes retrofit lighting, concrete removal, directional drilling, and the installation of splice boxes, and conduit. All driveways along the route will remain open.

Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning: There will be intermittent inside and outside lane closures on eastbound and westbound U.S. 92 from the Halifax River Bridge to S.R. A1A. All driveways will remain open during construction hours. Work to be performed includes: light pole installation and sidewalk work.

FDOT encourages all roadway users to drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy!

Drivers can expect a single-lane closure on northbound S.R. A1A with flagging operations to maintain traffic in both directions from just south of Sunrise Avenue to Marlin Drive. Lane closures can be expected Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., to accommodate revetment removal.

Friday, Jan. 31., a traffic shift will be implemented on State Road (S.R.) A1A between Milsap Road and University Boulevard.

This traffic shift will convert the roadway to its final configuration and is expected to remain in place as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) continues work on its project to improve safety and traffic operations in this corridor. 

Northbound and southbound traffic has been shifted toward the medians to provide space for crews working in the outside lanes. The center turn lanes within the medians will be maintained.

The speed limit of 35 mph throughout the corridor will be maintained for the duration of the project.

FDOT advises motorists to reduce their speed, follow posted signage, and exercise extra caution in the work zone. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Beginning Monday Jan. 6, there will be detours for Spring Garden Avenue. The closure, located on the east end of Spring Garden Avenue, is needed for roadway resurfacing and to begin transitioning into work on the first half of the roundabout included in this project. No driveways will be impacted by this closure.

The planned detour routes are as follows:

• Motorists traveling south on Lake Winona Road wishing to travel to Spring Garden Avenue will continue south on Lake Winona Road, turn left on County Road (C.R.) 3 North, and turn left on Spring Garden Avenue.
• Motorists traveling south on U.S. 17 wishing to travel to Spring Garden Avenue will turn right on Lake Winona Road, turn left on C.R. 3 North, and turn left on Spring Garden Avenue.
• Motorists traveling north on U.S. 17 wishing to travel to Spring Garden Avenue will turn left on Lake Winona Road, turn left on C.R. 3 North, and turn left on Spring Garden Avenue.
• Motorists traveling west on Spring Garden Ranch Road wishing to travel to Spring Garden Avenue will turn right on U.S. 17, turn left on Lake Winona Road, turn left on C.R. 3 North, and turn left on Spring Garden Avenue.
• Motorists traveling north on Ponce De Leon Boulevard wishing to travel to Spring Garden Ranch Road will continue north on Ponce De Leon Boulevard, turn right on Lake Winona Road, turn right on U.S. 17, and turn left on Spring Garden Ranch Road.
