Project Details
About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting the Maitland Areawide Study. The study is evaluating the existing operations for all modes of travel including vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and rail in the City of Maitland and exploring options for enhancing mobility and safety for all users.
The study focuses on segments of three major corridors, which are 1.5 miles of segments on Orlando Avenue, which is also known as U.S. 17-92, from Maitland Avenue to Seminole County Line, about one mile segment of Maitland Boulevard from Lake Faith Drive to U.S. 17-92, and a 1-mile-long segment of Maitland Avenue from U.S. 17-92 to Stone Hill Drive.
The study is in partnership with the City of Maitland, Orange County, Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX), and the MetroPlan Orlando Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The goal is to recommend short-term improvement strategies to meet the user needs and address safety concerns.
