The purpose of this project is to install turn lanes, lighting and other safety improvements along State Road (S.R.) 44 from south of Forest Ridge Road to north of Highland Lakes Road/Misty Lane in Lake County. The design concept proposes:

• Add a left-turn lane from northbound S.R. 44 to Highland Lakes Road and a right turn lane from southbound S.R. 44 to Highland Lakes Road.
• Add a left turn lane from southbound S.R. 44 to Forest Ridge Road.
• Install tightly spaced reflective pavement markings along the corridor for better lane visibility at night.
• Add lighting at the Forest Ridge Road and Highland Lakes Road/Misty Lane intersections.
• Add "All Traffic STOP while School Buses Load or Unload" signs along the corridor.
