About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is constructing a buried seawall in southern Flagler County to provide long-term protection for State Road (S.R.) A1A. The seawall begins at South Central Avenue and extends south to the Flagler County line. The wall will continue to north of High Bridge Road in Volusia County.  The Volusia County portion is covered under project 452443-1.

Construction began in late March.

Lane Closures
  • Drivers should anticipate a single-lane closure on northbound S.R. A1A with flagging operations from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, April 14, through Tuesday, April 15, from just south of the Volusia/Flagler County line to south of S. Central Avenue for paving operations.  

  • Drivers can expect a single-lane closure on southbound S.R. A1A with flagging operations to maintain traffic in both directions just south of the Volusia/Flagler County line. Lane closures can be expected Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate sod placement.
