The purpose of this project is to enhance safety at the intersection of South Hiawassee Road (State Road (S.R.) 435) and Old Wintergarden Road in Orlando. The project proposes to reconstruct the existing traffic signal to upgrade the signals for driver visibility.  Additionally, pedestrian signals will be upgraded to provide a Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) phase, which signals pedestrians to cross when all other traffic is stopped.
