The purpose of this project is to enhance pedestrian safety along State Road (S.R.) A1A in Daytona Beach and Daytona Beach Shores. The project will install two new midblock crossings with pedestrian activated signals called Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons and upgrade seven additional pedestrian crossings. Improved lighting at the crosswalks, as well as the addition of in-road lighting, is included. 

This project is being constructed with a resurfacing project that extends from U.S. 1 (Ridgewood Avenue) to Davis Street (FPID No. 450666-1).
