This project developed from a 2020 intersection safety study and is intended to help reduce the number and severity of crashes at the intersection of U.S. 17-92 (Volusia Avenue) and Enterprise Road. Improvements include replacing the free-flow right turn lane from westbound Enterprise Road to northbound U.S. 17-92 with two dedicated right turn lanes onto U.S. 17-92 that are under signal control. A new right turn lane is proposed along northbound U.S. 17-92 into the shopping plaza.

The project also will reconstruct and upgrade the traffic and pedestrian signals at the intersection, enhance intersection lighting and make necessary drainage improvements. New sidewalk is to be constructed on the northeast side of the intersection, and pedestrian curb ramps will be upgraded to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
