About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing Pineda Causeway (State Road (S.R.) 404) from U.S. 1 to S.R. A1A in Merritt Island to extend the pavement's lifespan. The resurfacing limits include the interchange ramps at U.S. 1, County Road (C.R.) 3 (South Tropical Trail), and S.R. 513 (S. Patrick Drive).

In addition to the resurfacing, the project consists of several operational enhancements, such as rebuilding the existing traffic signal with new mast arm poles at the intersection of S.R. 404 and S.R. A1A.

Other improvements include adding wrong-way detection to the ramps that do not already have the technology, adding bike lanes next to the right-turn lane (keyhole lane) at the S.R. A1A intersection and updating the pavement markings for the bike lanes.
