About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will mill and resurface approximately 3.7 miles of U.S. 27 (State Road (S.R.) 25) from north of Lake Louisa Road to north of Cluster Oak Drive in Clermont to improve the life of the existing roadway.

Travel lanes will be re-striped to accommodate 7-foot-wide buffered bicycle lanes on both sides of the road. Pedestrian enhancements include upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and constructing a sidewalk along the southwest corner of Brogden Drive.

WHAT TO EXPECT: During construction, motorists should expect both daytime and nighttime intermittent lane closures and possible detours on weekdays and/or weekends. Electronic message boards and other signage will direct traffic through the work zone. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained.

The contractor will maintain pedestrian access to sidewalks during construction using signed detours, channeling devices, and/or temporary walkways and ramps when appropriate. Uneven pavement is a common condition with projects that require temporary asphalt pavement, or resurfacing, as the contractor must put down different layers of asphalt during various phases of construction. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

The construction schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions.
