About

The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and improve operations on U.S. 17 from Spring Garden Avenue (S.R. 15A) to north of Ponce De Leon Boulevard in De Leon Springs. The project is approximately 3.1 miles in length.

There are a total of 26 full median openings and one directional opening along the corridor. Based on the findings of a 2019 U.S. 17 access management study, the project aims to consolidate median access along the corridor by closing 25 full median openings and installing bi-directional median openings at 12 locations.

Other improvements include repaving, drainage modifications, sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramp reconstruction, updated signage and striping, and lighting improvements.
