About
The purpose of the project is to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety on Silver Star Road (State Road 438) between Homestead Road and Princeton Street in the Pine Hills community of Orlando.
Planned project improvements include adding bi-directional medians and new pedestrian activated signals at the Le Havre Boulevard/Coast Line Drive and Orlando West Drive intersections. At these locations, the bi-directional medians will restrict left turns onto Silver Star Road from the side streets. Additionally, when a pedestrian activates the signal, traffic will be stopped to allow the pedestrians will cross Silver Star Road diagonally using the median.
This project also plans to reconstruct and upgrade the traffic signals at Ashland Boulevard/Willow Bend Boulevard and Dardanelle Drive.
