About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is resurfacing State Road (S.R.) 535
(South Apopka Vineland Road) from north of U.S. 192 (West Irlo Bronson Memorial
Highway) to south of International Drive and implementing operational and safety
improvements along the corridor.

Modifications at the Poinciana Boulevard intersection will allow traffic on S.R. 535
to only turn right or proceed straight. Traffic wishing to turn left from S.R. 535 onto
Poinciana Boulevard will need to proceed through the intersection, make a U-turn,
and then turn right onto Poinciana Boulevard. Traffic on Poinciana Boulevard will
have access to S.R. 535 in all directions.

Additional safety improvements will include curb reconstruction to shorten pedestrian
crossing distances and upgrades to turn lanes and traffic signals at Kyngs Heath Road,
the eastbound Osceola Parkway on ramp, Poinciana Boulevard, and Lake Buena
Vista (LBV) Factory Stores Drive. The project will also add a third left turn lane from
southbound S.R. 535 to eastbound U.S. 192, along with enhanced pedestrian
crosswalks, upgraded signals, and improved lighting at signalized intersections. This
project will construct new and restore existing bicycle lanes next to right turn lanes,
known as keyhole lanes.
