About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is improving safety and operations on North Orange Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 527) from Magnolia Avenue to north of Rollins Street in Orlando. This project will reconfigure the roadway from Magnolia Avenue to north of Ivanhoe Boulevard to provide one travel lane in each direction and additional on-street parking. In some areas, the curb will be extended to shorten crossing distances for pedestrians, and in other areas, floating islands will be built to help define the on-street parking.

Raised intersections will be constructed at Highland Avenue and Ivanhoe Boulevard to encourage safer driving speeds along the corridor. Additional improvements include milling and resurfacing the roadway, drainage modifications, upgraded pedestrian signalization, and curb ramps to comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
