The purpose of this project is to resurface State Road (S.R.) 442 (Indian River Boulevard) from Interstate 95 (I-95) to U.S. 1 (South Ridgewood Avenue) in Volusia County and implement roadway safety improvements, including wrong way driving detection at the I-95 and S.R. 442 Interchange.

This project also includes the construction of a 12-foot-wide asphalt shared use path adjacent to eastbound S.R. 442 from I-95 to west of Air Park Road. A 6-foot-wide sidewalk will also be constructed adjacent to westbound S.R. 442 from just east of I-95 to west of Air Park Road. 

Additional safety enhancements include buffered bicycle lanes on the roadway from just west of Air Park Road to U.S. 1, new pedestrian curb ramps and sidewalk reconstruction to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Work also includes new pedestrian lighting, traffic signal improvements, and drainage upgrades.
