The intent of this project is to alleviate localized flooding at the intersection and adjacent properties along State Road (S.R.) 50 (East Colonial Drive) at Maguire Boulevard in Orlando. The project will increase drainage capacity by adding two pipes on Lakewood Drive and Maguire Boulevard and adding inlets to collect the stormwater. Minor improvements during reconstruction of the roadway are also included.

S.R. 50 within the project limits is a six-lane divided highway. Maguire Boulevard is a City of Orlando facility with two through lanes in each direction at the intersection, plus dedicated turn lanes. Lakewood Drive is a City of Orlando facility with one lane in each direction. Open trench excavation will be required to replace the pipes.
