About
This project will widen a portion of U.S. 301 from Warm Springs Avenue to Florida's Turnpike. This is one of three segments within an overall project to widen U.S. 301 from two to four lanes from County Road 470 to Florida's Turnpike.
The improvements follow the recommendations of the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study completed in 2019 under FPID No. 430132-1.
The purpose of this project is to help accommodate traffic growth and alleviate congestion. The widened roadway will provide two lanes in each direction separated by a raised median. Safer accommodations for both bicycles and pedestrians will be included by adding a 12-foot-wide shared-use path on both sides of U.S. 301.
The other two segments of the overall project are being constructed under 430132-2 and 430132-4.
