About

The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and provide improved mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists along Forest City Road (State Road (S.R.) 434) from Edgewater Drive (S.R. 424) to Maitland Boulevard (S.R. 414). Among the improvements that are being considered are widening the roadway to six lanes, adding bicycle lanes, and improving sidewalks and crosswalks throughout this section of the corridor.

The Department has been evaluating additional safety improvements as part of its renewed effort to work toward a goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries on state roadways. Additional coordination with local stakeholders may change the design that was presented at a public meeting in late 2020.  The Department will be updating the community as design plans move forward.
