Traffic Advisory: Westbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Eastbound S.R. 528 to Close Nightly April 13-17
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists are advised that the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) at Exit 72 will be closed nightly starting Sunday, April 13, through Thursday night, April 17. Each night, the ramp is scheduled to close as early as 10 p.m. and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final reopening on the morning of Friday, April 18.
The closures are necessary for crews to prepare to shift traffic onto the new ramp lane. This operation is a critical step in the project to widen the ramp from one to two lanes, improving capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange.
Motorists traveling west on I-4 to S.R. 528 will exit early, at Exit 75B, to southbound Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) and proceed to the Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482) ramp, staying in the left lane and turning left at the traffic signal. From eastbound Sand Lake Road, motorists will turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423), proceeding to S.R. 528.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
