Traffic Advisory: I-95 Traffic Pacing Operations Scheduled for February 19
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists should be advised that traffic pacing operations are scheduled to occur on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 (I-95) from 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, to 12 a.m. the following morning. The pacing operation is needed to allow utility crews to remove a powerline located near Airport Road.
Southbound pacing will begin at the U.S. 1 interchange. Northbound pacing will begin at the State Road 40 interchange.
Traffic pacing is a traffic control technique used to slow — but not stop — traffic to facilitate short duration work operations without an extensive detour or diversion. Marked law enforcement vehicles, called pace cars, will slow motorists to about 10 to 30 mph to safely move traffic through the corridor.
Motorists should expect delays. FDOT advises motorists to reduce their speed, follow pace cars and posted signage, and exercise extra caution in the work zone.
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
