ORLANDO, Fla. – Motorists should be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be closing two lanes of westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) in the area of Conroy Road (I-4 Exit 78) in Orlando nightly beginning Sunday, May 5, and continuing through July 2024. The nightly lane closures will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night to Friday morning.

The I-4 westbound entrance ramp from John Young Parkway (State Road 423) will also be closed nightly following the same schedule.

Motorists traveling northbound on John Young Parkway should go under the I-4 overpass and make a left turn onto LB McLeod Road; left turn onto Vineland Road; left turn onto Conroy Road; and follow signage to I-4 westbound from Conroy Road.

Motorists traveling southbound on John Young Parkway should make a right turn onto LB McLeod Road; left turn onto Vineland Road; left turn onto Conroy Road; and follow signage to I-4 westbound from Conroy Road.

In addition, two westbound lanes atop the Conroy Road I-4 overpass will be closed nightly, with a single westbound lane remaining closed continually throughout the closure period.

The closures are necessary to allow for repairs to the Conroy Road I-4 overpass.

Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

FDOT advises motorists to use caution, be alert while driving or riding through active construction zones, and follow all posted detour signs.
