U.S. 17/92 and Silkwood Court Detour in Longwood
Seminole County Motorists need to be aware of a detour occurring tonight through Monday, March 12 at the U.S. 17/92 and Silkwood Court intersection in Longwood.
Drivers traveling along southbound U.S. 17/92 needing to access South Ronald Regan Boulevard/County Road (C.R.) 427 will need to detour at Silkwood Court. The detour will allow workers to safely install concrete pavement (three-lanes wide) at the intersection.
Work will begin tonight around 8:30 p.m., continuing through Monday, March 12 until about 6:30 a.m. Tonight only, the left turn lane and the two southbound U.S. 17/92 thru lanes at South Ronald Regan Boulevard will be closed and the right turn lane will serve as a combined thru lane and right turn lane.
The work is part of FDOT's project to widen U.S. 17/92 from four to six lanes from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard.
Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists. Please note that this schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions. Construction updates are available on FDOT's Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com, or by contacting Public Information Coordinator Alicia Arroyo at 407-278-2713 or Alicia.Arroyo@dot.state.fl.us.
For media inquiries, please contact the District Five Communications Office at 386-943-5479 or d5-pio@dot.state.fl.us.
