From Sunday, May 12 through Friday, May 17, during the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be intermittent lane closures on SR 426 (Aloma Ave) in both the eastbound and westbound directions from Mystic Lake Dr. to Eyrie Dr. Construction crews will be milling, paving, and doing concrete work.

Beginning Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. motorists can expect alternating lane closures in the outside eastbound and westbound lanes from Fairview Avenue to Overspin Drive. These roadways will be closed to traffic due to demolition and concrete pouring work.

Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly, Motorists should expect eastbound and westbound inside lane closures on S.R. 100 from N. Palmetto Street to east of Old Kings Road for milling and paving operations.

The contractor will be paving the median crossovers and left turn lanes. All structural asphalt in the mainlines have been completed. Please reduce your speed approaching the work zone.

The contractor will also be working on concrete sidewalk starting at the east end of the job from Old Kings Road on the south side of the roadway and working west.

Sunday, May 12, through Friday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. nightly, Motorists should expect alternating single lane closures on northbound and southbound S.R. 415 from S.R. 44 to Acorn Lake Road for paving operations. The contractor will be utilizing flagging operations to guide traffic around the lane closures. Traffic may be delayed up to 15 minutes at a time in either direction during flagging operations. Motorists are encouraged to plan their commutes accordingly.

Monday, May 13, to Friday, May 17, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly, single lane closures on northbound and southbound State Road (S.R.) 11 (Perkins Highway) from the Volusia County Line to U.S. 1 for paving operations. Motorists will be directed through the construction zone by flagging operations and traffic signage. Exercise caution and avoid distractions while driving through the work zone.

Continuing Sunday, May 12 through Thursday, May 16, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., there will be overnight intermittent lane closures along northbound and southbound SR 436 from north of Old Cheney Highway to north of University Park Drive for milling and resurfacing operations.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists and pedestrians of a nighttime closures of the North Causeway (State Road 44) moveable bridge over the Indian River, also known as the Coronado Beach Bridge. From Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16, the closures are scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning. These closures are necessary to facilitate the replacement of hydraulic cylinders within the bridge. A detour will be in place for vehicle traffic; marine traffic access will be maintained at all times.

DETOUR: Drivers who wish to access the North Causeway Bridge will be redirected by electronic message boards and other signage to take the adjacent South Causeway Bridge to their destination, as shown in the attached detour map.

Local traffic will still be able to access properties along North Causeway between Riverside Drive and the North Causeway Bridge during the closure. Given the overnight timing of the closures, an alternative route for low-speed vehicles such as golf carts will not be provided.

Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and allow extra travel time to reach your destination.

Tuesday, May 7, through Tuesday, May 21, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.: Weather permitting, motorists can expect Eastbound and Westbound Copeland Drive at the Eastside intersection of South Orange Avenue to temporarily close for the installation of new drainage pipes and structures. Drivers can still access Copeland Drive and South Orange Avenue by following posted detour signs.

Median Crossover Closures - Sunday, May 5, through Friday, May 17, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly: Expect shoulder closures at one or more of the following median crossover locations. The crossovers will be unavailable 24 hours per day until improvements are complete.

    • Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 will exit at S.R. 40/Ocala/Silver Springs (Exit 352), turn left on S.R. 40 (West Silver Springs Boulevard), turn left to enter I-75 via the southbound on-ramp from S.R. 40, and exit at S.R. 200/Hernando/Dunnellon (Exit 350). 
• Monday, May 20, through Wednesday, May 22, from 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., nightly: The southbound I-75 on-ramp from S.R. 200 will be closed for resurfacing.
  • Detour information: 
    • Motorists traveling southwest on S.R. 200 will turn left on SW 60th Avenue, left on SW 95th Street, right on SW 49th Avenue, left on Marion Oaks Trail, and left on C.R. 484. 
    • Motorists traveling northeast on S.R. 200 will turn right on SW 43rd Street Road, continue onto SW 42nd Street, right on C.R. 475, and right on C.R. 484. 

Lane Closures - Sunday, May 5, through Friday, May 17, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly: Motorists should expect overnight northbound and southbound lane closures on Interstate 75 (I-75) from the Sumter County line to S.R. 200 for milling, paving, and median grade improvements. Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, single lane closure on westbound State Road 44 (New York Avenue W) between just east of the power lines and Linda Drive for shoulder construction.

Starting May 20, 2024, Old New York Avenue (County Road 4110) under the new bridge structure near Shady Oak Restaurant and Captain Jed's Airboat Rides will be closed for approximately three weeks. This closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of the roadway underneath the new State Road 44 Bridge. During this period, a detour will be in place to guide motorists to their destinations. Drivers will be directed by video message boards and other signage to follow the designated detour route as follows:

DETOUR: Motorists wishing to access local residences and businesses along Old New York Avenue (County Road 4110) under the bridge will be detoured down New York Avenue (S.R. 44) and South Shell Road by signage.

The Barracuda Bridge is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Barracuda Boulevard, including the Barracuda Bridge, is closed from The Middle Way to Quay Assisi in New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County. This stretch of Barracuda Boulevard will remain closed until project completion, which is estimated to be Summer 2024. Motorists and pedestrians wishing to access the Marine Discovery Center and properties on Quay Assisi and adjacent side streets will be directed through a temporary detour route along Quay Assisi and North Causeway.

Watercraft access will be maintained during construction of the new Barracuda Bridge. However, there will be brief instances in which marine traffic access will be limited in the work zone for safety purposes. During these short closures, boaters are encouraged to use the channel below North Causeway to access Indian River North.
