About

The purpose of this project was to alleviate congestion and merging conflicts on John Young Parkway (County Road 423) just north of the Interstate 4 (I-4) interchange. The project modified the westbound I-4 exit ramp to John Young Parkway to physically separate traffic turning west onto LB McLeod Road from traffic on John Young Parkway.

The modified ramp has a new raised concrete traffic separator on the existing loop ramp to westbound LB McLeod Road to prevent vehicles from trying to cross over several lanes of John Young Parkway to access eastbound LB McLeod Road. The existing exit ramp to the traffic signal was widened to provide designated right and left turn lanes onto John Young Parkway and provide a safer path for vehicles heading to eastbound LB McLeod Road.
