About
The project consists of design and construction of the section of the Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail from Kingman Road/Smokey Lane to the Volusia County line. The approximate 12.8 mile paved, multi-use trail will be part of the Coast-to-Coast trail system from St. Petersburg to Titusville. The project scope includes:
A trailhead at the Aurantia Road crossing with a paved parking area and an adjacent unpaved parking area for equestrian trailers.
An 8-foot wide unpaved equestrian trail of approximately 5.4 miles from the Aurantia Road trailhead to the Volusia County line, parallel to the paved multi-use trail.
Replacement of numerous dirt road crossings and driveways with concrete surfaces.
Seven concrete structures built to cross existing water and wetlands.
Bicycle and pedestrian designation signing and pavement markings for the multi-use trail, trailhead, street crossings, and mid-block street and school crossings.
