About
The purpose of the project is to repave this segment of Fairbanks Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 426) from east of Edgewater Drive (S.R. 424) to west of Interstate 4 (I-4) to extend the life of the existing roadway. Pedestrian safety improvements are also planned, including upgrading pedestrian crosswalks, reconstructing sidewalk curb ramps and pedestrian signals, and adding new sidewalk at the intersection with Wymore Road. Other work includes traffic signal upgrades and necessary drainage modifications.
Fairbanks Avenue within the project limits provides two travel lanes in each direction with a center, two-way left turn lane along most of the corridor. No changes to the lane configuration are planned.
